On April 25, 2022, 17 new Master’s students started at the FHDW in Marburg. You will complete the Master’s degree in “Management and Leadership in Financial Sales”, which was developed in cooperation with Deutsche Vermögensberatung AG (DVAG).
This second Master’s degree program, which could only be launched with a short forced break due to coronavirus, offers finance and insurance experts the ideal opportunity to expand their professional and personal qualifications. With its focus on the special features of financial sales and the focus on entrepreneurial independence, this 31-month part-time course is a very good opportunity to learn and deepen theory and applied practice from all areas of financial sales.
Some of the Master’s students have already completed their Bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on financial sales at the FHDW in Marburg in recent years. However, around a quarter of the students come from other universities and now want to focus on specific management issues in financial sales, for example. All of the Master’s students have already been successful investment advisors for several years, and well over half of them have already set up and expanded their own companies and manage their own partners. “The Master’s course is intended to provide this group in particular with further theoretical and practical knowledge for experienced financial advisors,” says Prof. Dr. Michael Thiemermann, Head of the FHDW Campus Marburg. “With this course, we want to promote both the business and financial know-how of our Master’s students, but also offer them support for their daily management work in their companies,” added Klaus Höhn, Director of Education Management at DVAG, in his welcoming address. Unusually, this start of studies did not take place in the university itself, but in a conference room in a nearby hotel, because the university had already filled all its lecture hall capacity with Bachelor’s students and the Master’s students therefore had to “move out”.
After the introduction by Mr. Höhn and Prof. Thiemermann and the first lecture by Prof. Dr. Michael Heuser on the subject of “Personality Management”, the dinner at the invitation of DVAG was the crowning finale of this first study day.
